Fox News executives Bill Shine and Jack Abernethy are the new co-presidents of the cable news giant, Rupert Murdoch announced on Friday.
Shine, who was senior executive vice president under former CEO Roger Ailes, is slated to run programming, news, and editorial on both Fox News and Fox News Business, while Abernethy, the CEO of Fox Television Stations, will head finance, advertising, and sales, according to Politico.
“Jack was integral to the launch and success of Fox News nearly 20 years ago and we’re delighted he’s returning to take on this additional role,” Murdoch said in a statement. “Bill Shine has developed and produced a signature primetime that has dominated the cable news landscape for 14 of his 20 years with Fox News. His leadership and keen eye for programming has played a fundamental role in the success of both Fox News and Fox Business Network.”
According to Politico’s earlier reporting, Shine was widely considered a frontrunner to succeed Ailes before he resigned last month over allegations of sexual assault from former Fox News staffers.
Murdoch, the executive chairman of Fox News and Fox Business and executive chairman of 21st Century Fox, has stepped in to lead the network during the transition since Ailes’ departure.

“Shine, who was senior executive vice president under former CEO Roger Ailes”.
I thought no one survived once Roger the Hutt was on top of them?
Exactly. If Shine was the subject of alleged sexual assault of Fox News staffers, how could that be dismissed so quickly? Mystifying.
Shine? wasn’t he implicated as being complicit with Ailes harrassment?
Who gets to control the black room?
This fish is still rotting from the head down.
