Rupert Murdoch wants his top executive at Fox News to rein in the network’s coverage of Donald Trump’s presidential campaign, but the executive has so far refused to comply, according to a report published Wednesday.

Gabe Sherman of New York magazine quoted an anonymous source who said that Murdoch has tried to get Fox News Chairman Roger Ailes to have the conservative news channel “back off the Trump coverage.”

The channel has covered Trump more than any other presidential candidate in the 2016 race, according to the report. And Murdoch has not hesitated to voice his dislike of the current GOP frontrunner.

Murdoch took to Twitter over the weekend to criticize the comments Trump has made so far in his campaign.

Murdoch has privately described Trump as a “phony,” according to a New York Times report detailing their relationship.

Sherman’s insiders reportedly said Ailes told Murdoch he was covering Trump “the way he wanted to.”

Interesting - this could be a wonderful breath of toxic turmoil air for FOX … however it will not be the end of the disease - as there is such an active appetite for news to be reported & conform exactly with the views of the vapid & bigoted reactionary conservative couch dwelling drones - that another entity will gleefully reinvent themselves to jump into the space

  3. Murdoch: ¨When is Donald Trump going to stop embarrassing his friends, let
    alone the whole country?¨

Sorry he embarrasses you and your ilk, Rupert old boy. Is it because he says what you all are thinking, but know it’s impolitic to say outside of your social circles?

As for the ¨whole country¨, you’ve been embarrassing the rest of us for years.

  4. Hmmm… first Roger takes a demotion and has to report to the kid instead of the chairman… and now he actively defies the chairman? Could Roger be getting ready to jump ship? Wouldn’t it be something if Trump decides to launch his own Cable News channel after his campaign flames out?

  5. Is this the end of Roger Ailes at Fox?
