Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) said he understands how people can be frustrated with the plodding pace of government in America. But, he said in an address to the crowd at the Faith And Freedom Conference in Washington D.C. Thursday, at least no one’s shooting at each other.

“We do hear through press releases and floor debate what other people do to the exchange of gunfire,” he said. “And we’re blessed by that.”

“As frustrated as we may get with our republic and the fact that it’s not always the most efficient, I hope every single day in your prayers you give thanks to God that you live in one,” he said.
