Scandal didn’t stop New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) and former Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney from hauling in a cool $1 million for the Republican Governors Association Thursday night in Boston, but it did reportedly lead to a change of venue.

The RGA trumpeted its chairman’s fundraising efforts Thursday night on Twitter:

The Boston Globe reported that the scandal surrounding the Christie administration’s involvement in closing lanes on the George Washington Bridge caused the event to hit a minor snag. New Balance Chairman Jim Davis was scheduled to host the fundraiser at his home in Newton, Mass., according to the Globe, but due to media attention the event was moved to Boston’s Lenox Hotel.

The fundraiser was a high-dollar affair for a small group of about 20 donors, according to ABC News.
