Romney: We Should Be ‘Proud’ Chen Went To U.S. Embassy

Mitt Romney in an interview with Fox and Friends weighed in on the United States’ dealings with blind Chinese dissident Chen Guangcheng. “One of the great attributes of this country is we are a beacon of freedom,” Romney said. “He came to the U.S. embassy. We should be proud of that.”

Romney also said that “some reports” suggest U.S. officials might not have done enough to protect Chen.
