Mitt Romney predicted that “chronic, high unemployment” would persist for the next four years if President Obama is re-elected in an interview on NBC’s “Meet the Press.”

If this president’s re-elected you’re going to see chronic high unemployment continue for another four years or longer. You’re going to see low wage growth, if any growth at all. And of course there’ll always be this fiscal calamity at our doorstep.

Romney’s response dismissed experts who predict, as host David Gregory mentioned, that 12 million new jobs will be created over the next four years without any changes to current policy. Instead, Romney said his economic plan will grow 12 million jobs over the next four years.
