Mitt Romney took President Obama to task for saying “the private sector is doing fine” in a White House press conference on Friday. Obama’s comments came as he made the case that public sector layoffs were acting as a drag on the economy in comparison to the private sector, which has been adding to their payrolls for 27 months straight, and required new spending to create more jobs.

“He said the private sector is doing fine. Is he really that out of touch?” Romney said at an event in Iowa. “I think he’s defining what it means to be out of touch with the American people.”
