A new ad from the Romney campaign touting coal as a reliable energy source features Ohio miners who were allegedly required to attend the rally, the Chicago Tribune reports.

After the campaign event last month, the miners told a local radio station that the mine’s owner, Murray Energy, closed the mine for the day without pay. The company’s Chief Operating Officer Robert Moore told WWVA radio that “attendance was mandatory but no one was forced to attend the event.”
