The Republican National Committee will hold its Christmas party at Donald Trump’s hotel in Washington, D.C., the Huffington Post reported, citing unnamed Republican sources.

According to the Huffington Post, the party this year will be “a more exclusive and celebratory affair this year owing to the unexpected election victories enjoyed by the party this November.”

Trump’s hotel in D.C. creates potential for conflicts of interest. Mike Pence spoke on Tuesday at an event held for Heritage Foundation donors at the Trump hotel in D.C., and two foreign countries have events planned for the hotel. The President-elect also leases the building from the federal government and will oversee the General Services Administration as president.

The New York Times reported on Wednesday that Trump does not intend to completely divest from his businesses, but the President-elect has yet to announce his detailed plan for handing over the reins of his companies.

  2. Articles like this should come with numbers. How much is the rent, how much is Trump making off this sleaze. I think they would have a greater impact on the readers.

  3. Question: Before 11/8/2016, had another venue been booked by the RNC, and then the party location changed after the election?

  4. The Republican party is flushing its future on Trump, and if you can step back from it, it’s hilarious. They’ll be hearing about how they embraced this regime for decades.

Pride cometh before the fall. And this fall is going to be glorious. Get the popcorn ready.

  5. I hope the RNC stiffs the hotel when it comes time to settle up afterwards.
