Ringo Starr reportedly said on Thursday that it was “bullshit” that three ISIS militants who allegedly hailed from England and were involved in the recent beheadings of American journalists were nicknamed “The Beatles.”

During a conversation with the London Evening Standard, the former Beatles drummer said he was not pleased to hear the torturers had been nicknamed John, Paul and Ringo because of their British accents.

“It’s bullshit,” Starr said. “What they are doing out there is against everything The Beatles stood for… If we stood for anything we never stood for that. The four of us absolutely stood for peace and love. But we are not in control.”

  1. You tell 'em Ringo!

Calling them the Stones or even the Sex Pistols would be bullshit.

  2. Avatar for msny msny says:

but if you called them Coldplay…

  3. Well, there were three Beatles and they did go around beheading people and calling for jihad. So it’s a pretty natural nickname to come up with.
