Former Texas Gov. Rick Perry (R) offered what had to be the hottest take Thursday in reaction to Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton’s speech criticizing presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump.

Trump would “peel” Clinton’s “skin” off in a presidential debate, Perry predicted.

In a speech earlier in the day in California, Clinton drew sharp contrasts between herself and her GOP rival on foreign policy and argued that Trump was too inexperienced and too thin-skinned to have access to the nuclear codes.

In an interview with Fox News’ Neil Cavuto, Perry hit back at Clinton by saying she had held too few press conferences and hadn’t taken hard questions from the media.

“Donald Trump will peel her skin off in a debate setting and actually he’ll peel it off this evening, out in San Jose as well,” Perry said. “The people of this country are really concerned about an individual when you have Benghazi, when you have the e-mail scandals, when you have the Clinton foundation scandals.”

Perry, who dropped out of the race for the White House in September, added that Clinton was too much of a Washington insider to win the presidency.
