Presidential candidate and former Texas Gov. Rick Perry said on Thursday he thinks fellow Republican 2016 hopeful Carly Fiorina would make a good running mate.
Perry told Fox Business Network’s Maria Bartiromo that Fiorina, the former Hewlett-Packard CEO, is a “very, very capable smart, savvy businesswoman.”
“That’s the type of really savvy individual that I think that makes a lot of sense to have around you whether it’s in a cabinet or whether it’s as a running mate,” he said on Fox’s “Mornings with Maria.” “And by the way she was born in Texas, so that’s another plus for her.”
Perry and Fiorina were both at the bottom of a Quinnipiac poll released Thursday. Two percent of Republicans said they would vote for Perry, and 1 percent said they would vote for Fiorina.
Watch Perry’s appearance:
Poor Rick, always a bottom never a bride…
But, BTW, I’d vote for those glasses!
Two thoughts on Perry’s comment: 1. It’s reminiscent of high school behavior where kids at similar popularity levels band together 2. It’s a recycling of the Republican misplaced hope (from 2008) that women will vote for any ticket with a female candidate.
Somebody’s got a space in their binder!
2% + 1% = 3%.
Still not enough to win the White House, buddy.
Of course, given Carly’s aptitude with numbers, as demonstrated by her phenomenal handling of HP, maybe it would be.
*r = 21% (Rovian math)
