Top brass from News Corp’s publishing assets arrived in New York Tuesday for a meeting to discuss splitting the company in two, the New York Times reports. The company is considering forming separate companies for its entertainment and broadcasting businesses, and another for its publishing assets.

The Times reports:

The meeting, confirmed by two people close to the company who are not authorized to discuss a private meeting publicly, is meant to explain what the newly formed company would look like while also addressing the anxiety and unrest among the newspaper executives, who are concerned that newspaper businesses would be vulnerable without the high-performing entertainment assets propping them up financially.
