Former Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney has decided to return to the national stage to address the Conservative Political Action Conference next month in Maryland, according to the National Review Online.
“This is really an opportunity for Governor Romney to thank all his supporters and friends,” a senior Romney aide told NRO.
A former senior adviser to Romney explained the governor’s silence due to deference for President Obama’s new agenda.
“He deliberately did not inject himself into the political discussion between the election and the inauguration while the President was laying out his agenda for a second term,” the adviser told CNN last month. “But Gov. Romney does care deeply about America and its place in the world and from time to time he will speak out on issues.”
