The Portland Press Herald reports:

Former Independent Gov. Angus King plans to announce tonight at Bowdoin College that he is going to run for the U.S. Senate, says a source familiar with King’s plans.

But King said in a phone interview this morning that he would not confirm his decision until about 8 p.m. tonight, after he gives a public lecture at Bowdoin on John F. Kennedy and the Cuban missile crisis.
