Rep. C.W. Bill Young (R-FL) announced Wednesday that he will not seek re-election in 2014.

The Florida Republican is currently recovering from a back injury at Walter Reed Medical Center, according to the Tampa Bay Times. Young did not specify one reason for retiring.

“I don’t know that I would pick out one thing. It’s a lot of things. My family, my job, my rehabilitation from my back,” he told the Tampa Bay Times over the phone.

Young, who has indicated that he would vote for a clean continuing resolution, said that he was disappointed by partisan gridlock, but had kind words for the Tea Party Republicans.

“I love every one of these guys,” Young said of the Tea Party House members. “They’re doing what they think is right. That’s what I did.”
