A former Iowa state Representative who supported Mitt Romney in his last presidential campaign is worried that he could end up like Brett Favre, the notoriously indecisive former NFL quarterback.

“I really love Mitt and I think he would have been an awesome president,
but I don’t want him to be like Brett Favre,” former Iowa state Rep.
Renee Schulte told Bloomberg Politics. “I’m confused about what’s happening.”

Schulte’s comments came in a report on a speech Romney gave at Mississippi State University on Wednesday night. If Romney does decide to run for president a third time the three pillars of his campaign will reportedly focus on economic mobility, foreign policy, and poverty (thus the speech in the country’s poorest state).

In his speech, Romney argued that, to lift Americans out of poverty, the government shouldn’t allow incentives to keep people from getting married.

“If marriage is essential to helping people stay out of poverty, then we want to do the opposite,” Romney said according to CNN. “We want to create incentives for them to get married, not to not get married.”

The former Massachusetts governor also called for improvements in K-12
education and said there should be more incentives for employers to hire
workers who haven’t worked before.
