Nothing gets past Rep. Renee Ellmers (R-NC).

During an election day campaign stop Tuesday, the embattled congresswoman shouted at a local GOP leader that it looked like she’d packed on a few pounds. It was caught on tape.

“You’re eating a little bit too much pork barbecue. Whoo,” Ellmers said in a ridiculous video posted by WNCN, a CBS-affiliate in North Carolina.

Ellmers–who would go on to lose her primary Tuesday night–directed her jab at Maggie Sandrock, a former county party chair, who told the news station that Ellmers “has become a mean girl on steroids.”

When pushed by CBS, Ellmers defended her comment saying that “She’s gained some weight. Yea. She’s put on a little weight.”

“Are you friends with her?” the reporter asked.

“Sure,” Ellmers replied.

Sandrock said she also considered Ellmers a friend, but “not a good one” because well, friends don’t call each other fat.

“I would consider her a friend, but certainly not a good one,” Sandrock said. “Good friends don’t tell you you’re fat or you’re getting fat. They may say, ‘Everything going well Maggie? You look a little stressed out.’
