The Republican National Committee has assigned staffers to coordinate between the presidential campaigns and the television networks sponsoring the much criticized debates going forward.

Sean Cairncross, the committee’s chief operating officer, will work with the campaigns on the debates going forward, according to a Sunday report from the Hill.

On Sunday evening, representatives from numerous GOP presidential campaigns met to discuss potential changes to the debate format going forward.

In an email sent by the RNC to the campaigns, RNC Chief of Staff Katie Walsh wrote to assuage the campaigns of their growing concerns about the debate process.

“While we believe most of the debate details have been handled well, I want you to know that at the RNC we have heard your concerns and take them very seriously,” Walsh’s email said, according to text published by the Washington Post.

Walsh also said she will serve as the lead contact between the committee and the campaigns.
