Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) ripped House Republicans Saturday for what he said was a hypocritical vote to give furloughed federal employees back pay after the GOP shut down the government.
“They treat federal employees like they’re a lower class of worker than other people,” Reid said on the Senate floor. “They’re saying: ‘We won’t let you work, but look ahead, you’re going to get paid.’ That’s the absurdity of this.”
“We like federal employees on this side of the aisle,” Reid continued. “I want them to work.”
