Police said a New York Knicks player was arrested early Tuesday on felony gun charges, ESPN New York reported.
Knicks point guard Raymond Felton was charged on three counts of criminal possession of a weapon, according to a New York Police Department spokesman. The charges resulted from Felton possessing a gun he was not registered to have, according to the spokesman, not from Felton wielding the firearm in any menacing way.
Felton turned himself in around 1 a.m. ET Tuesday after the Knicks’ close loss to the Dallas Mavericks, according to the spokesman. He is expected to appear in criminal court in Manhattan later Tuesday morning.
