Chicago mayor Rahm Emanuel argued that there was “nothing memorable” about Mitt Romney’s big convention speech in Tampa this week in an interview on NBC’s “Meet the Press.”
“When you think back at other convention speeches: George Bush, ‘read by lips,’ Bill Clinton, ‘the new covenant,’ George Bush also said the ‘compassionate conservative,’ George Bush 43,” Emanuel said, recalling past speeches. “There is nothing memorable — the reason we’re debating, even discussing Clint Eastwood — is because there is nothing memorable about Mitt Romney’s speech. There’s not a memorable line, not a memorable philosophy.”
