Things just keep getting weirder around here.
A banner plastered with the image Russian president Vladimir Putin, labeling him a “peacemaker,” appeared Thursday on the Manhattan Bridge in New York City.
Two men were seen unfurling the approximately 20-by-30-foot banner at around 1:45 p.m. ET, witnesses told The New York Post. The New York Police Department told the newspaper that they received a 911 call about the banner at around 2:30 p.m., and police removed it at 2:55.
Twitter lit up with sightings of the bizarre banner displaying the likeness of the contentious figure, who has been praised by Donald Trump:
