President Obama on Friday ordered that a wind energy company known as Ralls Corp. is forbidden under national security interests from constructing a wind farm near the U.S. Naval Weapons Systems Training Facility in Boardman, Oregon, and must tear out any initial construction and remove all equipment from the site and three others within 14 days.

“There is credible evidence that leads me to believe that Ralls Corporation (Ralls)…might take action that threatens to impair the national security of the United States;” the order, issued by the White House Office of the Press Secretary, reads in part.

The order comes after Ralls sued to go ahead with the project following a rejection by the The Committee on Foreign Investment in the U.S. (CFIUS), also under national security concerns. Ralls is owned by executives of the Chinese company the Sany Group.
