Democratic challenger Elizabeth Warren continues to lead Republican Sen. Scott Brown in the Massachusetts Senate race.

Warren leads 50 percent to 45 percent, in a poll released Sunday by Western New England University. The survey of 440 likely voters was conducted Sept. 28 through Oct. 4, and has a 4.7 percent margin of error.

In the university’s poll numbers for the presidential race in the state, released Monday, Barack Obama leads Mitt Romney 63 percent to 33 percent — creating a very tough mountain for Brown to climb.

The PollTracker Average shows Warren leading Brown, 49.2 percent to 43.7 percent.
