Florida Sen. Bill Nelson is up 9 points in his race for re-election against Rep. Connie Mack (R-Fla.), 46 percent to Mack’s 37 percent, according to a new survey from Democratic-leaing Public Policy Polling. While Nelson increased his lead from a 7-point advantage in PPP’s last poll of Florida in August, he’s down on job approval — only 34 percent of Floridians approve of his performance, while 41 percent disapprove.
“Bill Nelson continues to look like a pretty strong favorite for reelection,” said Dean Debnam, President of PPP in a statement. “He’s not popular, but Connie Mack IV has proven to be an exceptionally weak opponent for him.”
Nelson leads the PollTracker Average of the race by 8.6 percent.
