Rep. Pete King (R-NY) criticized Hillary Clinton’s Wednesday speech on race and prison reform and claimed that the former Secretary of State “perpetuated false narratives based on political correctness and liberal ideology.”

King bashed Clinton for mentioning the cases of Michael Brown and Eric Garner without thanking police officers for their service.

“If Sec. Clinton were being honest about addressing race relations in America, she would have pointed to the progress made in New York City by the policies of Rudy Giuliani, Michael Bloomberg and the NYPD which reduced the murder rate by 80%,” King said in a statement.

In her speech, Clinton called for criminal justice reforms and said that the U.S. needs to end “the era of mass incarceration.”
