Rep. Pete King (R-NY) said on Wednesday that President George W. Bush had “absolutely no responsibility” for the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

Bush’s responsibility over the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks was recently called into question by Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, who said, “Blame him, or don’t blame him, but he was President. The World Trade Center came down during his reign.”

Trump’s Republican rival, ex-Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, defended his brother’s administration and said Trump had “dangerous'” views on national security.

King defended President Bush during an interview on Fox News and said that blaming him for 9/11 was similar to saying, “Franklin Roosevelt was responsible for Pearl Harbor.”

“President Bush has absolutely no responsibility for what happened on Sept. 11,” King said. “He was meeting with the CIA, he constantly asked for briefings, and he was told that there was no evidence of any threat against the United States.”

Numerous reports on President Bush’s handling of the terror attack showed his administration ignored warnings of a coming attack, and instead focused on state-sponsored terrorism.

King referenced the memoir of George Tenet, who was the director of the CIA in the Bush administration.

“Any Al Qaeda operatives who may be in the country were being monitored by the FBI,” King continued. “In his memoirs, George Tenet said there was no evidence of all that there was going to be an attack on the U.S. The evidence indicated an attack in Europe.”

    Culpability, then?

Anyway, I think maybe some left-leaning sites (lolz, I know, this place isn’t actually) should just stop repeating what these cowards say on Fox? At least force them to have the balls to leave the echo chamber if they want to get free press.

This showboat had me laughing this morning on CNN…From their position in the hallway near the door to the GOP conference, members could be seen passing behind a CNN reporter. I spotted King walking down the hall talking with a woman. King noticed the CNN camera and stopped smack dab behind the reporter, his face visible to the camera, and continued talking to the now reporter-obscured woman.
CNN should put a cam in King’s fridge to catch the soundbites he give the fridge lite at night when snacking…
