Former Rep. Pete Hoekstra (R-MI), who is now running for Senate, is set to tour the state on February 23 with a special guest: Businessman and former presidential candidate Herman Cain.
“The Tea Party and conservatives have been increasingly supporting Pete Hoekstra over the years as a result of his staunch fiscal policies in Congress,” Cain said in a Hoekstra campaign press release. “During his time representing Michigan, Pete stood by his conservative principles, he fought for a balanced budget, and he worked to cut spending. That’s the kind of leadership we need in Washington.”
Hoekstra has been under fierce media criticism for the past two weeks, in the wake of his TV ad that featured an Asian-American actress (who has since publicly apologized for her role in the ad) speaking in broken English to “thank” incumbent Democratic Sen. Debbie Stabenow for borrowing money from China, and weakening the American economy.
