Former Texas Gov. Rick Perry (R) on Tuesday expressed support for the letter 47 Republican senators’ sent to Iranian leaders warning them that future presidents will not have to abide by any nuclear deal negotiated under the Obama administration.

Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal (R) joined the 47 Senate Republicans who signed the letter meant to undermine the United States’ nuclear deal with Iran, and he urged all 2016 presidential hopefuls to do the same.

Perry had already expressed disapproval of the Iran nuclear deal. In a video statement earlier this month, the former governor said that the administration “has caved on one demand after another” throughout the negotiations with Iran.

“If President Obama signs an agreement that the Congress cannot support, our next president should not be bound by it,” Perry said in the video statement. “We must not allow the incompetence of one administration to damage our country’s security for years and decades to come.”
