If Republicans ever want to win a presidential election, the House GOP needs to pass immigration reform, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi warned on Meet The Press Sunday.
“I believe that the members of Congress, many more than are directly affected themselves by the number of Hispanics in their district, will do what is right for our country,” she said in a pre-recorded interview that aired Sunday. “And it’s certainly right, for the Republicans, if they ever want to win a presidential race.”
The Senate passed the comprehensive immigration reform legislation last week on a 68-32 bipartisan vote. The bill faces a far more uncertain future in the GOP-controlled House.
