House Speaker Paul Ryan has no plans to endorse the Republican Party’s presumptive nominee Donald Trump.
At least not yet.
“I have not made a decision, and nothing has changed,” Ryan told reporters Wednesday during a pen and pad according to the Huffington Post.
Reports surfaced Wednesday morning that senior Trump campaign officials were confident the endorsement was coming, but Ryan’s office quickly squashed those reports.
“There’s no update and we’ve not told the Trump campaign to expect an endorsement,” Ryan’s spokesman said in a statement. “He’s also not told anyone he regrets anything.”
Even as many Republicans have come around to endorse Trump, Ryan has held off. Ryan and Trump met earlier this month to discuss the campaign and some of their policy positions. Ryan described the meeting as courteous and productive, but still has not offered a formal endorsement.
He’ll pout for a few more weeks and then he’ll come around.
Party before Country, dontcha know.
They need to date a few more times before Paul Ryan will be ready to accept Trump for who he is.
Dear Paul,
How about shocking the world and telling the racist, misognistic crazy person that he has shamed what you believe is the party of Lincoln.
Thanks in advance, although not holding my breath.
Rich
You know he’ll put out soon enough.
Really, really, really trying hard to get himself fired from having to act as MC for the coming Trump Triumph of the Will vulgarian shitshow funeral for the Republican Party.
