On the heels of New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie endorsing Donald Trump‘s presidential bid, Maine Gov. Paul LePage said on conservative talk radio Friday afternoon that he also backs Trump.

Multiple journalists reported that LePage endorsed Trump on conservative radio host Howie Carr’s show.

“I was Donald Trump before Donald Trump became popular,” LePage reportedly told Carr.

The Washington Post also reported that LePage said in his radio endorsement Trump could be “one of the greatest presidents ever.”

LePage notoriously called for Maine to bring back the guillotine, was accused of blackmailing a charter school into firing a political opponent, and recently suggested that black drug dealers with names like “D-Money, Smoothie, and Shifty” move through Maine and impregnate young white women.
