Former Republican New York Gov. George Pataki called Donald Trump a “know-nothing” candidate during CNN’s undercard debate Tuesday.

Pataki compared Trump’s proposed ban on all Muslims from entering the country to what the Know-Nothing Party did to Catholics more than a century ago.

“He is the Know-Nothing candidate of the 21st century and cannot be our nominee,” Pataki said.
