President Obama on Monday openly cast doubt on Donald Trump’s ability to serve as president and chances for winning the general election in November.
“I think that he is not somebody who even within the Republican Party can be considered as equipped to deal with the problems of this office, but look, we live in a democracy,” Obama told New Hampshire ABC News affiliate WMUR.
“If in fact the Republicans nominate Mr. Trump, then it’s going to be an interesting fall season,” the President added. “I’m confident that ultimately the Democrat in that circumstance will win.”
Obama hasn’t been shy about sharing his feelings about Trump. He mocked the Republican presidential frontrunner during the White House Correspondents’ Dinner and has dismissed Trump’s foreign policy expertise.
Mr. President, this has to be the understatement of the year.
The President is correct of course, and it is the duty of every Democratic voter to make sure it doesn’t happen, even if your preferred candidate isn’t the nominee. It’s also true, I think, that it’s the duty of every Republican voter to keep Trump out of the Oval Office, but we can’t rely on them to do the right thing.
Now if we can get Bernie to focus on Trump…or at least quit helping the Donald…
Bernie helps Bernie. He is not a Democrat.
My like of Bernie has gone to dislike and is moving every day it seems to a strong dislike…
