President Obama is scheduled to travel to Chicago on Friday to discuss the proposals he outlined in his State of the Union address earlier in the week, the White House said. Obama is scheduled to speak at Hyde Park Academy at 3:45 p.m. ET.
Obama is expected to discuss gun violence in his remarks, according to the Chicago Tribune, including the death of Hadiya Pendleton, a 15-year-old girl who performed at Obama’s inauguration and was shot a week later in Chicago.
