President Obama responded at the foreign policy debate, to Mitt Romney’s statement that our alliance with Israel was weakening.
“America remains the one indispensable nation. The world needs a strong America, and it is stronger now than when I came into office,” said Obama. “We were able to refocus our attention not only on the terrorist threat, but also begin a transition process in Afghanistan. It allowed us to refocus on the relationships that have been neglected for a decade.
“And Gov. Romney, our alliances have never been stronger, with Asia, Europe, Africa — with Israel, where we have unprecedented military and intelligence cooperation including dealing with the Iranian threat.”
