President Barack Obama will continue his tour to promote his economic agenda with a trip Thursday to Jacksonville, Fla.
Obama is scheduled to speak at 1:55 p.m. ET at the Jacksonville Port Authority. The trip to the Sunshine State will follow a pair of speeches on the economy the President delivered Wednesday in Illinois and Missouri.
While speaking on the campus of Knox College in Galesburg, Ill., Obama chided House Republicans for taking “meaningless” votes to repeal the Affordable Care Act and lamented that “phony scandals” have shifted Washington’s attention away from restoring the economy.
And while the speech was aimed largely at ending gridlock on Capitol Hill, Obama suggested he’s willing to around Congress and use any executive authority he has at his disposal “to help the middle class.”
