The White House said on Tuesday that President Obama has “better things to do” than watch this week’s GOP presidential debate.

White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest told reporters at a briefing that the President had no plans to watch Wednesday night’s debate, which is set to feature the top 11 Republican contenders and is being hosted by CNN at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in California.

Asked why Obama wouldn’t be tuning in, Earnest shot back.

“I guess ’cause he feels like he’s got better things to do,” Earnest said. “With all due respect to CNN.”
