President Obama lauded the U.S. women’s soccer team today during a visit with training athletes at the U.S. Olympic Training Facility in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
“We have to give a special shout out to the women’s soccer team today avenging the loss in the World Cup,” Obama said, per a pool report. The U.S. beat Japan 2-1 in a gold medal Olympic final at London’s Wembley Stadium.
“So proud,” he later personally tweeted.
Congrats to the U.S. women’s soccer team for a third straight Olympic gold. So proud. –bo
