Just minutes after reports that former Gov. Jeb Bush said “stuff happens” in response to a question about gun control and the Oregon college massacre, President Obama shot down the comment in a live press conference.
“I don’t even think I have to react to that one,” Obama said when asked for his reaction. “I think the American people should hear that and make their own judgments based on the fact that every couple of months we have a mass shooting.”
Obama continued: “They can decide whether they consider that ‘stuff’ happening.”
After the shooting at Umpqua Community College left 10 dead yesterday, Obama issued a forceful call for congressional action on gun control, saying “this is something we should politicize.”
Watch Obama’s full answer:
TPM should be carrying this conference instead of little sound bites This is an incredible conference for all to see and especially those who criticize this brilliant, wonderful president working harder than any President in my lifetime whose desire to govern and make this a better place. Shame on TPM Shame
For those of you who are interested here it is The first part is about Arne Duncan leaving but the rest is a full fledged conference which in my opinion is a must see/ Starts at 14:01
I’m watching it right now on CNN.
What.a.guy. period.
Mr. President I respect and admire your restraint and maturity. You bring honor to your office.
I on the other hand am not the president, so I am free to react.
Hey Jeb!
I can’t wait until after the election is over in 2016, say, late December 2016 and the Democratic sweep has sunk in for the MSM and the country and Obama has no reason to pull his punches anymore. To hear him unload on the craven and seditious Republican Party and tell us what he REALLY THINKS about them would be just a JEM.
Yes he is a special person and if you want to se it all here is the span coverage
