President Obama said that he and Jay-Z have a lot in common at a fundraiser Tuesday night hosted by Jay-Z and Beyonce their 40/40 Club in New York, according to a White House pool report.

“We both have daughters and our wives are more popular than we are,” Obama said. “So, you know, we’ve got a little bond there. It’s hard but it’s okay.”

Obama thanked “J and B” for their “friendship” and joked that the rest of his family wishes they were at the event. “Michelle, Sasha and Malia are mad at me because they aren’t here,” he said.

In thanking his hosts, Obama said that “Beyonce could not be a better role model for my girls.”
