The Obama campaign released a new ad attacking Mitt Romney’s tax plan the day before the Democratic National Convention. The ad attacks Romney’s tax plan, under which Romney promises to both slash all tax rates by 20 percent and be revenue neutral.  A Tax Policy Study found last month that the only way this is possible is by raising taxes on the middle class.

“The middle class is carrying a heavy load in America, but Mitt Romney doesn’t see it,” a narrator begins the ad.

“Under the Romney plan, a middle class family will pay an average of up to $2,000 more a year in taxes. While at the same time giving multi-millionaires like himself a $250,000 tax cut.”

“Is that the way forward for America?” the narrator says at the end of the ad.

The ad will air in Colorado, Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada, Ohio, Virginia, and Florida.
