President Barack Obama will announce his executive actions on immigration on Thursday at 8 p.m. Eastern Time, the White House said Wednesday.
The president’s long-anticipated announcement will be streamed online at WhiteHouse.gov/Immigration-Action, White House spokesman Josh Earnest wrote in a blog post.
Then, as TPM reported earlier, Obama will deliver a full address in Las Vegas on Friday about the steps he intends to take.
“The Senate passed a bipartisan bill more than 500 days ago, and while the country waits for House Republicans to vote, the President will act — like the Presidents before him — to fix our immigration system in the ways that he can,” Earnest wrote.
You can watch live.
What a huge unforced error, waiting until after the election. The President simultaneously inspired no Democrats, fooled no Republicans and impressed no swing voters by waiting.
Rumors swirl that Manchin is planning to switch R.
You’ll be able to smell the pout®age wafting coast-to-coast.

Yeah. But that’s over and done with, and we are where we are.
What matters is that he’s doing this now, which is wonderful news for five or so million people. And there’s the potential big bonus that the GOP will make major assholes of themselves over this, which the general public might actually notice (unless the press ignores it all, except for whatever McCain says on Sunday morning shows).
So still time to stock up on hazmat suits and rain ponchos for the coming Republican outrage storm.
