President Obama joked Thursday that even with a high quality education, children will still grow up to go on sleepovers, dates and drift away from their parents.

“Now, I do have to warn the parents who are here that still have young kids, they grow up to be like 5’10” and even if they’re still nice to you, they basically don’t have a lot of time for you on the weekends,” Obama said, speaking about a proposal for universal pre-kindergarten education in Decatur, Ga.

“They have sleepovers and dates,” Obama said. “So all that early investment just leads them to go away.”
