President Barack Obama had dinner with food personality and TV host Anthony Bourdain while he was traveling abroad in Vietnam, CNN announced Monday.
The dinner was filmed for an episode of CNN’s “Anthony Bourdain Parts Unknown,” which returns in September for its eighth season. The network said the two were expected to discuss Obama’s interest in Vietnamese culture in the episode.
Obama embarked Saturday on a weeklong trip to Asia, where he was expected to discuss trade opportunities and visit Hiroshima, Japan.
Bourdain posted a photo of the dinner to Instagram:

Great to see them eating a wonderful typical meal amongst ordinary Vietnamese. Food looks delicious and conversation engaging. I loved my visit to Vietnam earlier this year.
Aaaaaaarg!! Obama is apologizing to the Vietnamese!!!
Hmmm I’m actually not sure which one I’m more jealous of-Bourdain for getting to have dinner with President Obama or President Obama for getting to share a meal with Bourdain?
I’m jealous of both of them because that food looks pretty great and it’s an hour until lunch and I’m having leftovers PHOOEY
Two amazing dudes right there, enjoying some great looking food.
