President Obama remarked that changes to the nation’s gun laws can only come if “the American people demand it,” during a news conference Wednesday announcing a package of proposals to curb gun violence.
“The only way we can change is if the American people demand it,” Obama said. “It can’t just be the usual suspects. We have to examine ourselves and our hearts and ask ourselves, what is important. This will not happen unless the American people demand it.”
“That’s what it’s gonna take,” he said.
