President Obama’s reelection campaign has launched “Women for Obama,” a new initiative to encourage female voters to participate in next year’s race, reports CNN.
The new group is an arm of Operation Vote, an existing program devoted to shoring up Democratic support for Obama’s reelection. “Women for Obama” will enable women to communicate with campaign leadership and have a voice in the campaign strategy, according to a press release from the campaign.
First Lady Michelle Obama will serve as the group’s honorary chair, responsible for expanding the women’s vote and increasing their participation in the election process.
