Obama campaign manager Jim Messina delivered his version of “Keep Calm and Carry On” to Obama supporters Monday. In a video posted to the campaign’s YouTube account, Messina dismissed polls showing a tight race with projected GOP nominee Mitt Romney as fully expected and urged Obama supporters not to let the numbers keep them from continuing to build out Obama’s grassroots operations.
“We knew this would be a tough race,” Messina says in the video before pointing to polling from the late spring of 2008. “We’re actually ahead of where we were last time around.”
