Obama Calls For End To Oil Industry Tax Breaks

In an address at the White House on Thursday morning, President Barack Obama called for an end to government subsidies for big oil companies. 

“American oil is booming – the oil industry is doing just fine,” Obama said. “That’s why I think it’s time they get by without more help from taxpayers.”

The president said that instead of giving billions in tax breaks to the fossil fuel industry, that money would be better invested in developing and sustaining sustainable energy programs.
